We’re back with another Mindful Quote Mention.
Conquer yourself, before trying to influence and win with others. This applies to anything, and it really hits home for me. If you don’t feel like you have control over yourself – your mind, your body, your thoughts, your habits, your LIFE – you can’t possibly be around or keep around the type of people you want in your life. You can’t possibly get to the level of fitness and athleticism you want either.
Self-mastery is key to a successful workout and a successful life. And no – I don’t mean this get up at 5 a.m., people only need 4 hours of sleep, blah blah blah hustle culture people are pushing these days…and I’m glad the younger generation isn’t buying that either.
I mean setting a goal for yourself, making a plan, and sticking to it – no matter what. This applies to workout goals, nutrition goals, or personal life goals.
I mean establishing healthy habits.
Because everything we do is habitual. your whole life is one big habit.
From the way you brush your teeth to the order in which you eat your food.
You can rest – rest is necessary….but like I’ve always said in my workout tips and blog post, go until you can’t, rest until you can.
This is the easiest way to conquering yourself first – and once you get this down well….you’ll be a force to be reckoned with.
