We’re back with another Mindful Quote Mention.

There’s probably hundreds if not thousands of reasons that have been rationalized as to why we’re here on this earth. The way I see it, we’re all entitled to our own reason, as long as it gets you out of bed in the morning and drives you to be a good person – a better person – a better version of yourself – than you were yesterday.

If you’ve been following the blog for a while now and have read the SUPP UP. Guides, you’ll know the entire brand is centered around one thing – self-reliance. In order to have self-reliance, you have to conquer yourself.

These days everyone seems so overexposed. People are more interested in what’s going on in other people’s lives, so quick to make other people’s lives a conversation topic on the tip of their tongue, rarely do they stop to analyze their own.

Social media has become one big reality TV show – except without the annoying director telling everyone to ‘amp up the drama’.

Stop focusing on what everyone else is doing, where they’re going, and how fast they’re getting there in comparison to you for a minute. Take some time instead, to stop and check-in on you.

It disturbs me slightly, how many times I’ve heard some people say they’re ‘afraid to be alone with their own thoughts’.

For me, this is a clear indicator of a person who hasn’t conquered themselves – their own minds – yet. Coming from a family line where every generation was in the military, this shows a real lack of self-discipline.

Self-discipline and mental toughness are what prevent a man from being broken. He may be bloodied, but never truly broken.

Nobody said you had to agree with your thoughts – or force them out of your brain. The main thing is to be able to sit and be comfortable with them, until they pass or you choose to think of something else. Master this and you can move on to pushing thoughts out, ’emptying your mind’ as Bruce Lee once said. It’s not easy – and nobody said it was.

But mastery of self, conquering yourself?

Learn to do that, and you become a force to be reckoned with.

That’s all, folks.
